Founder & Associate Master
Master Lynn Rex Myers is the founder and head master of the White Tiger Kenpo Karate dojo. With nearly 40 years of experience as a martial artist, he holds an 8th-degree black belt in Tony Martinez Sr. Kenpo Karate, a master's red belt in Chiryoku Rikiji, and a 3rd-degree black belt in Chung Do Kwan style Tae Kwon Do. Master Myers is the heart and passion of our school and oversees all training our students receive.
Mr. Myers is a member of the advisory board for the Ultimate Impact American Kenpo Alliance (UIAKA) and an ambassador for the Paxial Arts system. He holds a bachelor's degree in parks and recreation and studied rehabilitation counseling at University of Utah.
Senior Instructor
Mr. Burbank has been a kenpo practitioner for 20 years. He began his study of martial arts in the Paul Mills lineage of kenpo in 2004. In 2013, he began studying under Tony Martinez Sr. and Master Rachel Bickmore. He holds a 2nd-degree black belt from Grandmaster Martinez and a 4th-degree black belt from the UIAKA and Master Myers.
Outside the dojo, Mr. Burbank is a mental health professional experienced in crisis response and de-escalation. He is a current high school English literature teacher. He has undergraduate degrees in psychology and creative writing and a master's degree in curriculum & instruction with an emphasis in educational psychology.
Head Instructor
Ms. Wallis is a 3rd-degree black belt and main instructor at White Tiger. She began her marital arts journey as a teenager studying tai chi and Chinese martial arts. She was introduced to kenpo in 2008 and became a formal kenpo student under Rachel Bickmore in 2017. She was awarded 1st- and 2nd- degree black belts from Tony Martinez Sr. and her 3rd degree from White Tiger and the UIAKA in March 2025.
Ms. Wallis gives regular Kenpo and women's self-defense seminars and is an experienced tournament competitor. When she isn't training, she is studying animal behavior, biology, and ecology, or she is writing.
Instructor
Ms. Marcum teaches sparring and karate classes at our school. She has a black belt in Chiryoku Rikiji and currently holds a green belt in Kenpo Karate.
Ms. Marcum is an advocate for frequent safe but pressure-tested sparring and believes that kenpoists need to put on their sparring gear more often. Outside the dojo, she uses her degree in communicative disorders & deaf education as a paraprofessional for Logan School District.
Senior Instructor
Mr. Scriver has a 2nd-degree black belt in Bobby Lawrence Karate and currently studies kenpo under Tony Martinez Sr. and Casey Clayton. In 2021, he participated in initial testing for a 4th-degree black belt from Grandmaster Tony Martinez.
Mr. Scriver practices an interdisciplinary approach to martial arts, blending his kenpo with methods from other arts like jiu-jitsu. He has an interdisciplinary studies degree focused on psychology and often introduces principles of psychology and criminology into his martial arts lessons.
Instructor
Ms. Grote has been a student of kenpo for over five years. She studies Tony Martinez's Chinese Kenpo under Master Rachel Bickmore, and the White Tiger Kenpo Karate curriculum under Lynn Myers and Koltn Burbank. She earned her black belt in Kenpo Karate in March 2025.
In college, Ms. Grote studied engineering and animal science. She is a licensed civil engineer with a master's degree in engineering from Utah State University.
Junior Instructor
Mr. Ray has been a dedicated student of Lynn Myers since he was a child. He has a 2nd-degree black belt in Tony Martinez Sr. Chinese Kenpo and is currently studying the full White Tiger Kenpo Karate curriculum.
Mr. Ray assists in the advanced kenpo class and currently leads several classes at our school in tandem with other instructors and assistant instructors.
Co-Owner & 3rd-Class Brown Belt
Mr. Polisano is the co-owner of White Tiger Kenpo Karate and a brown belt. He is actively involved in the kenpo community and attends UIAKA seminars as well as seminars from the European Kenpo Association in Ireland.
Outside the dojo, Mr. Polisano is an author of suspense and mystery novels and has a master's degree in business administration.
3rd-Class Brown Belt
Ms. Albiston is a brown belt who assists with children's classes as well as beginner and intermediate kenpo classes. Her favorite kenpo technique is Leaping Crane.
Assistant Instructor
Mr. Pintor is a student at White Tiger Kenpo Karate and a Kenpo orange belt. He began his martial arts journey in 1979 with Sensei Katsutaka Tanaka. Mr. Tanaka provided the foundation of Mr. Pintor's martial arts with proper kicks, punches, and blocks in movement. Travelling around the Pacific Rim allowed Mr. Pintor to learn from different styles of martial arts. In 1987 while living in Korea, Mr. Pintor studied with Mr. Kim and received a 1st-degree black belt at the 137th Taekwondo promotion test at the Korean Taekwondo Association headquarters (Kukkiwon) in Seoul, Korea.
Mr. Pintor has a bachelor's degree from Utah State University in business information, technology, and education. For the past 15 years, he has been a fiduciary accounting representative for the U.S. Government helping disabled veterans. He is an active member of the UIAKA.
